Managing Upwards

by Ian Saunders

Managing upwards is important because it is the means by which you can set the boundaries and expectations around your job with your boss. If your relationship with your boss is good, this will be a positive set of guidelines. If the relationship is not good, this topic will provide you with the means to make the relationship better or, at the least, help you to cope and get through the days as successfully as possible.

There are many reasons why it is worth bothering to make the effort to manage upwards.

The more effort that you put in – and this does not just mean your time – the more you are likely to get something out.

Managing upwards makes a difference.
