Tom Bird

About the author

Tom is a director of RTP having previously held senior management positions including Vice President of European Operations and Managing Director for a variety of hi-tech international companies over a 14-year business management and sales career. In these positions Tom had overall responsibility for strategic and tactical business planning, building, motivating and managing a UK/European team and revenues for the region.

In 2001 Tom followed his passion for bringing about positive change through personal development enabling individuals to realise their potential.

His particular passion is for coaching and developing coaching skills in others along with helping companies to adopt a coaching culture within their business. His significant business-to-business solution sales experience has also led to him working in the area of sales and sales leadership development.

Tom is a Master Practitioner of NLP and has a Postgraduate Diploma in Coaching and Development from the University of Portsmouth. He studied business and finance at Kingston Business School.

Outside of his interests in personal and professional development, Tom enjoys playing guitar, is a trustee of the Academy of Contemporary Music ( works with The Princes Trust ( and spends time with his family.
